Refund policy

This Refund Policy explains when refunds are and aren't available for purchases from Build Clean Slate ("Build Clean Slate," "we," "us," or "our") at buildcleanslate.com. It applies alongside our Terms of Service. By purchasing from us, you agree to this policy.

Before requesting a refund, please contact us at support@buildcleanslate.com. Most issues — including bugs or something not working as expected — can be resolved quickly, and we're glad to help.

1. Digital products (themes & digital assets)

Because our digital products are delivered instantly and come with a license key that grants immediate access, all digital product sales are final and non-refundable. Once an order is placed and the product or license key is delivered, we are unable to offer a refund, return, or exchange.

We encourage you to review the product details, demo, and documentation before purchasing, and to reach out with any questions before you buy.

Bugs and technical issues

Our themes are actively maintained, and we regularly release updates and bug fixes. If you run into a bug or something isn't working correctly, please contact us — we will make reasonable efforts to investigate and resolve issues with the theme's own functionality. A bug or fixable issue is not, on its own, grounds for a refund, since we will work with you to resolve it. Please note that problems caused by third-party apps, custom code changes, or platform updates outside our control are not the responsibility of Build Clean Slate.

Limited exceptions

At our sole discretion, we may consider a refund if you were charged but did not receive your product or license due to a technical error on our side that we are unable to resolve. Duplicate or accidental purchases may also be reviewed on a case-by-case basis if reported promptly and before the product has been downloaded or the license activated.

2. Services

Refunds and cancellations for services (such as theme installation, full store setup, custom design, and asset creation) depend on the stage of the work:

  • Before work begins: if you cancel before we have started, you may request a refund. We may retain a reasonable amount to cover non-refundable payment-processing fees or any preparatory work already performed.
  • Once work has started: refunds are limited to the portion of the work not yet completed and are issued at our discretion. The value of any work already performed is non-refundable.
  • After delivery / completion: completed and delivered work is non-refundable.

Revisions vs. refunds: each service includes the number of revision rounds stated for it. If you're not satisfied with a deliverable, we'll address it through the included revisions — this is the primary way we resolve concerns, rather than refunds.

Client responsiveness: we rely on you to provide the content, materials, and store access we need. If you do not provide these within a reasonable time (for example, 30 days from purchase) despite our requests, we may treat the order as fulfilled, and amounts paid are non-refundable.

3. How to request a refund

Email support@buildcleanslate.com with your order number and a description of the issue. We'll review your request and respond, typically within a few business days.

4. Approved refunds

If a refund is approved, it will be issued to your original payment method. Please allow a reasonable processing time (often 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer) for the refund to appear.

5. Chargebacks

If you have a problem with an order, please contact us first so we can make it right — we're happy to help and most issues are resolved quickly. Filing a chargeback or payment dispute for a delivered digital product or completed service, instead of contacting us, may result in immediate revocation of your license and suspension of access, as described in our Terms of Service.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Changes take effect when posted.
